We went up to sequoia national park where Chanel tried getting rid of me
First they're sour, then they're sweet...

there was a giant orange on the way
And we went to the Chaffee zoo with some awesome people

And me and Chanel are weird...

BYU Graduation

I finally graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Translation after three years. I thank my loving parents who taught me the importance of school, my crazy roommates who made college life memorable, Dorothy who was the only person I knew in Utah when I first got here, and my professors who taught me everything I know.

BYU will always have a special place in my heart, after all, it is where I met the love of my life;)
I'm so grateful for the opportunity and the blessing I had to come to this temple of learning and I can't wait to go forth to serve.

GO COUGARS!!!

Proposal Pictures

The Proposal

Saturday February 15, 2014

To tell this story, we have to go back to the Tuesday before the proposal, February 11th. Chanel decided to surprise Diane by taking her to Color Me Mine, a pottery store where you can choose and paint your own pottery piece and they bake it for you. They painted cookie mugs with Chanel's being the Cookie Monster and Diane's The Grouch. At check out, they were told their mugs would be ready to be picked up that Saturday. What Diane didn't know is that Chanel went back to Color Me Mine the next day and painted an additional mug which would become a key part of the proposal.

Thursday night, Diane and Chanel received the following group message from Keyla letting them know she would be having a Valentine's Day bonfire Saturday Night. So that's what they planned to do Saturday night. There was never a bonfire ;)

Saturday, Chanel tells Diane they would be going to dinner at PF Chang's, a fancy Chinese Restaurant (under the pretense that his grandpa had given him a giftcard and they needed to use it), and then they would go to Keyla's bonfire for a bit before heading out to a dance.

After dinner, they headed out to the park where Keyla had said the bonfire would be at. Chanel pretended he missed the turn in order to give Keyla and Michelle more time to finish setting up. When they arrive, Chanel says that they've had a bonfire here before and knows where to go. So, they get out of the car and start looking for the "bonfire".

He leads her to an area a little more secluded with a wooden dock, low hanging trees, and a pond. After a couple minutes of walking, Diane jokingly says, "I hope you're not planning on chopping me into little pieces and throwing me in the lake."

Soon, while keeping an eye out for the "bonfire", Diane sees an area up ahead with lights on the floor. they start to walk up to turn into the dead end with tea lights lining the dock, rose petals on the floor, and two Color Me Mine paper bags with thier names on them. Without her contacts or glasses though, everything was still a little blurry for Diane. As they continue walking towards it, Chanel turns into the dead end and Diane, still not seeing the bags with thier names, says, "I don't think we're supposed to go that way." She thought the place was set up by the park for a special event. Chanel smiles as they continue to walk and asks, "Are you sure?" Finally, Diane notices the bags and asks, "Did you plan this?"

She still doesn't know Chanel is about to pop the question. She can notice Keyla's "touch" in the scene and thinks maybe Keyla wanted to do something nice for them. Since there are two bags, one with Chanel's name and the other with her's, she thinks that their Color Me Mine mugs are all that's inside.

However, when she looks inside the bag with her name on it, she realizes that her mug is not inside. Instead, she finds another pottery piece with "Will you marry me?" painted on it. She turns to Chanel who takes the box from her hands, bends on one knee and asks, "Diane Lizette Zarco, Will you marry me?"
Needless to say, she said yes!
